Future Now 'Interchange mural'

My idea for the mural came from holidays with my partner. We'd arrive back home finding tickets in our pockets over the coming weeks from museums, art galleries, buses and the train.

Searching eBay, I found local bus tickets from the 90s. All shapes and sizes, beautifully printed and stamped. Collaging the tickets together, I found this would form a great composition for the mural. On the back they featured a graphic saying 'Travel by bus', I wanted to adapt this as an advertisement which could work as a tour guide for visitors and to celebrate a few popular places loved by the residents of Sheffield.

The mural is part of Future Now, a project by Sheffield Hallam University in collaboration with South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (SYMCA). Emerging creatives have been asked to show the future through exhibitions, events, performances and screenings.
